Exciting things are happening in the studio! New limited edition home goods are now available in the shop.
If you've been following along with me, you probably know I'm fascinated by folks who practice a daily creative routine. I decided to have a go at a routine myself, so I've been painting more lately. And because of this my creative energy has gone through the roof! I decided to try some of these paintings as screen prints on fabric and liked the result so much I'm offering them as limited editions in my shop. They're so fun for me to make, and I hope to add a new tea towel or pillow design every month or so. Here's a look at my sketches and painting in progress.
And the final product! The Flower Garden pillow and July tea towel.
This article about Chuck Close has some interesting perspectives about the artist's life, technique and craft, and about continual seeking and discovery. I love what Close says about generating ideas: "Sitting around waiting for an idea is the worst thing you can do. All ideas come out of the work itself."
Have a great day, friends!
