Sara Parker is an artist and designer offering bespoke and limited edition hand-printed fabrics for residences, boutique hotels, retail interiors, and small offices. In addition to textiles, Sara also designs and prints letterpress stationery, art prints, and original art works. Her lighthearted motifs are rooted in flora and fauna local to her Georgia studio. Large scale and exuberant, her style looks to tradition yet is inarguably contemporary, personal, and comforting.
Sara Parker Textiles is co-owned and operated by Sara Parker and Simon Hunt since 2010. Sourcing organic fabrics, mixing each color by hand, and printing each hand-drawn pattern in house, they are able to create truly unique artisan fabrics that embrace the processes of traditional printmaking.
Sara is a multidisciplinary designer who studied Fiber and Material Studies at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2010, after teaching and working with many artists in Chicago, Sara returned home to Georgia where she could utilize her parents basement as a printing studio. When she’s not at the print table, Sara is often tending the garden and playing with watercolors.
Simon is a photographer, printmaker and musician based in Athens, Georgia. In each of these technique-oriented disciplines, he explores the counterpoint between texture, geometry and improvisation. He graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he met Sara and joined her in creating textile yardage and artworks, which they produce in their home studio.
