The first year I made a tea towel calendar, we were exhibiting at one of our local holiday markets when a customer came up to our booth so excited to see a tea towel calendar like the ones her mom collected when she was a kid.
Since then, it's become a tradition for me to design an annual tea towel calendar. I love how it makes people reminisce about their mom's and grandma's collections. They're also really fun to design! I think about the year and what I've been working on, and include bits and pieces of that into the design.
Looking back on the past years' prints, I remember the trip we took to the beach in July, planting the garden super early in January, and sitting by the fire pit in December.
In the 2017 calendar, I included bits of the new repeat patterns I've been working on, Heuchera and Ginkgo. Our kitty Maisie follows me everywhere I go so she makes an appearance twice in the 2017 design. I've also been wanting to learn to knit, so I'm hoping that will be me in early January! :)
This year you can opt to buy the 2017 Tea Towel Calendar with a hanging system in place so you can pop it right on your wall, or make it easy for your friend to display. As always, these are hand printed in our Athens, GA studio on sustainable and stain resistant hemp and organic cotton. Inks are heat set so you can wash and use daily if you like! Washing cold by hand or in a gentle wash will help to preserve the life of the print.
